Poems

Cross
The mist is free to deny
coffeed magnolias
damp ambitions

awaying here swaying
freedom upright
bent and undone

Summer

Old summer keeps
close with lacquered eyes
and time to sleep.
sweaty saddle faces
come apple frittered leather smiles
away singing songs
weeping in puddled kitchens
who smiles so quiet and deep?

New summer lusts
with rivully cheeks
and salty tongue tips,
houring on for time
to take time for once and again
in deep for requiems
when summers soft and wet
kissed our foreheads, laughing.

~December 2011

Kabul
flat gods bargain
scratchy limbs.
Bazaar faces, those days!
bluesed making children

dawg's dream

iPods and trash bags.
fists beards and taboos
pissing shitting plastic notions
old spice and the pathans
wronged and panting
insha'allah

Reprieved

acrid breath
a call to prayer.
kodachrome Kush
blood turns old
sand to stones.

Love Song for Cortes

joy curled
Lempira's resigned
whiling a wheeling away
in a chipped Kinich's sun
burned and jodido
with naked boulevard Jesus
day rags and blister tostones

Mary cane smokes
so lovelyful percolating her
in a world's ululation
San Pedro back to us
breathy corn promise
on and on
and endily ondily
you burn in me.
